Será?

Meio inacreditável...

Spray-on Liquid Glass Is The Transparent, Non-Toxic, Waterproofing, Stain-proofing, Sterilizing, Breathable, Flexible, Nanotech Wonder Product!

An article on PhysOrg.com (found via @DotSauce) reports that the invention of a liquid-glass spray is the most important nanotechnology breakthrough to date! According to the summary on PhysOrg.com, the liquid glass spray "is transparent, non-toxic, and can protect virtually any surface against almost any damage from hazards such as water, UV radiation, dirt, heat, and bacterial infections" (source). It is breathable, flexible, and only around 100 nanometers thick (15-30 molecules).

Liquid glass (officially known as “SiO2 ultra-thin layering”) is almost pure silicon dioxide mixed with either ethanol or water. It bonds to almost any surface, lasts up to a year, and is almost undetectable.

Some proposed applications include coating surfaces for easy cleaning (surfaces can be sterilized by simply rinsing with water), providing anti-bacterial protection to surgical instruments and implants, stain-proofing clothes, graffiti-proofing and weather-proofing monuments and gravestones, protecting grapevines from fungus, and helping seeds germinate faster.

What would happen if you put liquid glass on your whole body? Would your skin be waterproof and bacteria proof?

Could you spray it in your eyes and make extremely low profile goggles out of just a few layers of silicon dioxide molecules??

How can liquid glass be both breathable and waterproof at the same time?
